We are looking to extend our pupil wellbeing team by appointing a second Learning Mentor. The successful candidate will work with a team of staff to undertake a wide range of pastoral responsibilities within the school.
Do you want to teach children how to manage difficult situations? Are you passionate about educating the next generation about their own wellbeing? Can you assist with the tracking of behaviour and make successful changes within the school to prevent negative behaviours from happening?
Becoming a Learning Mentor at Gallions Primary School is an exciting opportunity. We would love to find an engaging, passionate adult with good communication skills to provide support to pupils, parents and families, within the school community. We look to continue developing our pupil wellbeing provision with an aim to give all children the opportunity to meet their full potential.
We have been judged to be a Good school by Ofsted (December 2015), but are striving hard to be judged as Outstanding once again.
• A good communicator?
• Calm under pressure?
Do you have:
• The very highest standards in all you do?
• High expectations in the potential of all children?
• Experience of managing challenging behaviour in a positive way?
• The enthusiasm and energy to support children in changing the way they see themselves?
All applicants must be willing to train as a First Aider or have First Aid qualification.
Gallions Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be requested for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation. Our school follows Newham’s policy on inclusion.
An enhanced DBS check is required before taking up the appointment. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to sit a literacy and numeracy test as part of the interview process.
A Disqualification by Association form must be completed before appointment.
Applications should be made online on the London Borough of Newham website or Jobs Go Public.
Closing date for applications is midday on Monday 22nd January 2018.
Interviews will be on the 5th February 2018.
Please note, there will be a written test during the interview.
